Position Title: Program Manager

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Position Overview:

Healing Ribbons, a culturally grounded nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Native American women and their families through healing centered, arts based, and culturally rooted programming seeks a passionate, professional, and organized Program Manager to oversee and support the delivery of its programs in Omaha, Nebraska. 

 

The Program Manager is a position responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of culturally grounded, healing-centered programs. This role requires a highly organized, relational, and accountable professional who can manage multiple programs simultaneously while ensuring cultural safety, program quality, and alignment with established objectives. The Program Manager works closely with Elders, Culture Bearers, Contractors, Volunteers and Participants to support arts-based and culturally rooted activities, including regalia making, talking circles, mentorship, and community gatherings. The position balances hands-on program management with oversight, ensuring programs are delivered with integrity, consistency, and respect for Intertribal Indigenous knowledge systems, intergenerational teachings, and community accountability. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Healing Ribbons programs, including the Art of Healing and Mentorship programs, as well as other community-based initiatives by developing and maintaining program plans, schedules, and curricula

  • Uphold and model culturally safe, trauma-informed, and healing-centered practices, ensuring culturally appropriate protocols, respectful boundaries, and confidentiality in all program and organizational activities.

  • Coordinate and facilitate program activities, workshops, cultural teachings, talking circles, and events.

  • Build and manage relationships with community members, artists, and cultural leaders, Culture Bearers, contractors, volunteers, and Elders to support program delivery.

  • Manage participant enrollment, communications, and attendance tracking and follow-up.

  • Collaborate with the Board, Culture Bearers, Participants, and Stakeholders to align programs with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for program-related concerns or incidents and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Track, analyze, and report program outcomes, successes, and areas for improvement while maintaining accurate program records and ensuring compliance with grant and organizational requirements.

  • Represent Healing Ribbons at community events and outreach activities.

  • Assist in leading the planning and execution of the annual Round Dance and Fashion Show.

  • Ensure all facilities used for workshops and events meet safety, cleanliness, and accessibility standards, manage facility bookings and agreements. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in program management and coordination, preferably within a nonprofit, community-based, or culturally grounded organization, with the ability to manage multiple activities, timelines, and priorities.

  • Knowledge of Native American culture, traditions, and healing practice with a strong understanding of Indigenous  ways of knowing, regalia making, and the respectful engagement of Culture Bearers, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers. 

  • Experience organizing, coordinating and executing community-centered and culturally focused events, including workshops, showcases, or gatherings that require logistical planning and coordination. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to develop schedules, track participation, maintain documentation, and follow through on commitments. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with participants, community members, artists, volunteers, contractors, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. 

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) and other basic software tools used for program management, communication, and data tracking.

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards when working in healing centered and community based environments. 

  • Commitment to the mission, values, and culturally grounded approach of Healing Ribbons.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree in human services, business, or related field.

  • Two years of work-related experience, preferably in program coordination, community engagement, or a related role

  • Ability to work flexible in-person/office hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by programming and events. 

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 20 pounds at times.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, in accordance with organizational policy.

Compensation:

  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with an hourly wage ranging from $22-$27, based on experience and qualifications.

  • Up to 15 days (120 hours) Paid Time Off (PTO) per year
